Whetman Equipment innovations evolve through identifying that something could be better, playing with ideas and materials and trying different gadgets in various scenarios, ever mutating the form until it spits out the top of the volcano of creativity.

Whetman Equipment products are either made in their own workshop in Devon, UK or made in Europe under license by experienced paddlesport industry partners.

Founder, Steve Whetman, has over 30 years paddling experience and gets on the water every week. He's a keen adventure kayaker, has been sponsored by various major paddlesports manufacturers and is noted for extreme whitewater solo descents. He's also an experienced raft and jungle guide, knotched up many real life threatening river rescues, managed an adventure company and worked in paddlesport manufacturing for over 15 years. Steve is a qualified Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue Instructor and his paddling these days is mostly at a variety of tide races around the UK and Brittany or on the rivers of Dartmoor.

Steve is an accomplished motorcycle racer, although unlike RIBstore's Samantha Tilley, he prefers off road!
