FAQ Friday #24 - My once flat air-deck has burst and now resembles a cylinder - is this repairable?

FAQ Friday #24 - My once flat air-deck has burst and now resembles a cylinder - is this repairable?

Unfortunately, if the air-deck of your SIB has been overinflated to the point that the 'stitches' keeping the two layers of the boat floor parallel have been broken, and the once flat surface is now trying to resemble a cylinder this isn't repairable :(
Breaking this news to a customer wasn't what he wanted to hear after he admitted to inflating the floor of his boat with a pump which had no cutout pressure. This resulted in a very overinflated the air-deck which went bang. 😳Being a drop-stitch part, he has unfortunately destroyed the stitching in the floor of his inflatable and will need to replace the part. Thank you Ray for the photos and letting us share them too.
